The purpose of this consultation is to gather views on the Department for Education's revised exclusion guidance document and regulations relating to exclusion. This includes proposals for how regulations will be applied to Academies, including Free Schools. Deadline: 17/02/12

 
  Care Quality Commission: Update to fees 2012-13

The CQC has launched a consultation on the fees it propose to charge Primary Trust (PCT) providers, the Health Protection Agency (HPA), NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) and NHS Direct (NHSD) from 1 April 2012.              Deadline: 20/02/12

 
  New requirements on governing bodies to share information

The proposals aim to help schools be better informed when recruiting new teachers. Under the new plans Governing bodies in maintained schools will have to pass on information to prospective employers, on request, about whether a teacher is or has been subject to capability procedures. Deadline: 24/02/12

 
 

This consultation seeks views on the Government’s ideas for reforming support for mortgage interest following the introduction of Universal Credit from 2013. Deadline: 27/02/12

 
 

The purpose of this consultation is to seek views on proposed amendments to Section 46 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990, which sets out the penalties which local authorities may apply to householders who present their waste incorrectly for collection. Deadline: 09/03/12

 
  Fire and Rescue National Framework for England - a consultation

This consultation seeks views on the draft National Framework's priorities and objectives for fire and rescue authorities in England in connection with the discharge of their functions. Clearly setting out the role of fire and rescue authorities in delivering national resilience, the draft National Framework sets out how they will work individually, collectively and with government to ensure capacity is in place to respond to major incidents.   Early Years Professional Status Standards Review
Consultation on the revised draft standards
The Children’s Workforce Development Council has been remitted by the Department for Education to undertake a review of the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS) standards. The aim is to produce a revised set of Standards for implementation by training providers' delivering the EYPS from September 2012. Deadline: 23/03/12  
  Consultation on changes to the Standard Assessment Procedure

The SAP is used to underpin the delivery of a number of key climate change initiatives, and will also in the future be used to help deliver the Green Deal, the Energy Company Obligation and the Renewable Heat Incentive. The proposed changes aim to ensure that the SAP continues to meet both existing and new user requirements. Deadline: 28/03/12

 
  Consultation on new guidance on social housing allocations and on draft regulations relating to the housing needs of Armed Forces personnel

Draft Armed Forces Additional Preference Regulations 2012

The guidance is aimed at enabling local authorities to manage their own waiting lists, and making it easier for them to move existing social tenants to more suitable accommodation, in accordance with the provisions of the Localism Act 2011. It also encourages authorities to make use of the existing flexibilities within the allocation legislation to ensure that social homes go to people who need and deserve them the most. The government has launched this consultation to ask for views on whether the current cross-government definition of domestic violence should be widened. It also seeks views on whether the current definition is being applied consistently across government, and if it is understood by practitioners, victims and perpetrators. Deadline: 30/03/12

 
  Consultation on proposed changes to legislation around flag-flying The proposed changes aim to find a way of preserving and encouraging flag-flying traditions, including reducing or eliminating the cost of applying for consent, while at the same time maintaining safeguards against the unregulated display of flags that could affect local amenity or cause offence. Deadline: 30/03/12  
 
The Government has produced this document to develop a discussion and invite you to submit your views on a new system of prioritising and funding for local major transport schemes. A new system, once in place, will enable construction to begin after the end of the current Spending Review period – 2014/15. Deadline: 02/04/12
 
  Inspection of adoption support agencies

The key proposals within this consultation by Ofsted, include a reduction in the number of judgements that inspectors make from the current 13 to just four - outcomes for service users; quality of service provision; safeguarding of children, young people and families; and, leadership and management.  The consultation also includes plans to reduce the length of notice given before an inspection, from eight weeks to 10 days. Deadline: 03/04/12

 
  Social Housing Fraud - Consultation

The proposals aim to increase the deterrent to tenants to commit fraud and the ability of landlords to detect and prosecute those who do so. They also aim to extend local authorities' powers of prosecution, allow for compensatory payments to be made to landlords, and remove the loopholes that allow those abusing their tenancies to retain them. Deadline: 04/04/12

 
  Dealing with the problems of late night drinking
This consultation is about two measures in the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 that will be implemented through regulations: early morning restriction orders and the late night levy. Deadline: 10/04/12

 

 
  A public online consultation has been launched asking for views on the implementation of two new powers desigined to help communities deal with problems associated with late night drinking. Deadline: 10/04/12  
  The consultation seeks views on elements of how raising the participation age will work in practice - by consulting on the policies that will form the secondary legislation. It covers aspects such as the definition of residency; the definition of full-time education; any wider ways of working that (when combined with part-time study) could be considered as participating, and the amount and use of any fines. Deadline: 13/04/12  
  The Department for Communities and Local Government is consulting on a proposed policy statement for Part 2 of the Localism Act 2011. Part 2 of the Act is designed to incentivise public authorities to meet their European obligations and avoid any infraction related fines. Deadline: 22/04/12  
  Getting it right for victims and witnesses
Part 1 sets out the Government’s proposed approach to ensuring that victims and witnesses get the support they need, both to overcome the consequences of crime and to participate fully in the criminal justice process.Part 2 sets out how the Government proposes to reform the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme (CICS) to protect compensation payments for those most seriously injured while removing less serious injuries like sprains from the scheme and restricting payments to those with criminal convictions. The Department for Transport is inviting views on proposals to remove the current need for the Secretary for State to approve local authority applications to run ‘permit schemes’, which enable authorities to better manage street works. These works are a necessary fact of life and essential to give and support the utility and transport services on which individuals and businesses depend, but they also cause significant disruption to road users and local communities. The Government is determined to cut the adverse impacts of these works. Deadline: 25/04/12

  Consultation on legislative changes to firearms control

The consultation is seeking views on whether to make changes to the current sentencing framework for the illegal importation of firearms.

It also seeks views on whether to introduce new firearms legislation targeted at individuals who supply firearms (or possess them with the intent to supply) to the criminal market and if we do, what would be an appropriate sentence. Deadline: 08/05/12

 
  Office of Fair Trade (OFT) Call for Evidence - Rural Communities The OFT has launched a call for evidence on remote communities. The purpose of this is to seek the views of residents in remote communities to improve the OFT's understanding of how remoteness effects both consumers and businesses. Deadline: Summer 2012

A public consultation on the government's UK influenza pandemic preparedness strategy took place between 16 December 2010 and 17 June 2011. Calderdale Pandemic Influenza Planning Committee responded on behalf of Calderdale.
