Local Area
Agreement > Outcomes and Targets
Our approach to
developing Calderdale’s Local Area Agreement (LAA) reflects our
partnership approach. Partner Theme Leads have led the
development of LAA outcomes against the themes in out Community
Strategy (Calderdale
Futures Plan).
Calderdale’s Local Area Agreement
currently has 36 long-term goals (outcomes) Examples of outcomes
include: reducing crime (Safer
and Stronger Communities theme), keeping children and young
people safe (Children and Young
People theme), improving health and reducing health
inequalities (Healthier
Communities theme), improving the economic wellbeing of
older people (Older People
theme), increasing employment for disadvantaged groups (Economy
and Enterprise theme), and improving access to affordable,
sustainable housing (Environment
theme).
Each outcome has one or more targets that enable us to measure
progress towards achieving the outcome. Some targets are
‘mandatory’, meaning that we are required by government to
deliver them.
