Local Area Agreement > New Local Area Agreement

Originally intended to run from 2007 - 2010, Calderdale's Local Area Agreement (LAA) came to an end on 31st March 2008, when a new Local Area Agreement arrangement came into effect. Calderdale's Local Area Agreement 2008 - 2011 had now been signed off by Central Government and contains 32 indicators and targets. The list of new indicators and targets in the new LAA can be viewed here.

Further information about the new LAA arrangements are set out and can be found in the following documents.

Communities and Local Government published the first part of two-stage guidance on the negotiation process for new Local Area Agreements in September 2007, called ‘Negotiating New Local Area Agreements’.

The second stage of the guidance was published in November 2007, and clarifies the operational process for negotiating LAAs - ‘Development of the New LAA Framework: Operational Guidance 2007’.

Details of the new LAA arrangements were also set out in the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR), released with the
The New Performance Framework for Local Authorities and Local Authority Partnerships: Single Set of National Indicators’ in October 2007.
