About Calderdale Forward

Calderdale Forward is the district's local strategic partnership (often abbreviated to LSP). It brings together the organisations that have a shared interest in, and commitment to, promoting the social, environmental and economic well-being of Calderdale. It promotes effective strategic planning and partnership working. Public sector organisations, the voluntary and community sector and local businesses are all involved in Calderdale Forward.

Calderdale Forward's aim is to improve the quality of life for people in the District. Its role is to develop an overall strategic vision for the area and ensure it is delivered. This is Calderdale's Sustainable Community Strategy, which is updated every three years. View the 2009 updated draft of the Sustainable Community Strategy here.

Calderdale Forward is also responsible for delivering the vision and underpinning ambitions of the Sustainable Community Strategy through its Local Area Agreement.

Calderdale’s Story of Place describes the District, its  ambitions, challenges and priorities.  It has been embedded in and complements the draft Sustainable Community Strategy. Click  here to see the Story of Place 2008-2011.

The structure of Calderdale Forward consists of the Calderdale Forward Board, which is the policy development and decision-making body, the Calderdale Forward Delivery Group, which co-ordinates and performance manages the delivery of Calderdale’s Local Area Agreement 2 Refresh, and six Theme Delivery Partnerships, which focus on delivering the outcomes of the Futures Plan and Local Area Agreement.
