The Health and Wellbeing Board operated in shadow form from early 2011 in preparation for the introduction of the Government’s statutory arrangements. It became a formal committee of the Council on 1st April 2013.
The Board leads on the strategic co-ordination of planning and the buying of: local health services; social care for both children and adults; and, public health services. It promotes more local control over those services.
All organisations working in these areas will develop a shared understanding of local need and agree the best strategy to meet that with the funding and resources available.
Calderdale Health & Wellbeing Board produced its first Wellbeing Strategy in January 2013.

In response to Nick's comment above, the woodland trust has been added to the partnerships bulletin email group which contains key updates on the wellbeing strategy.
Rachel StewartThe Woodland Trust is keen to engage with your Shadow Health & Well Being Board, particularly in the production of any Health & Well Being Strategy. As set out in the Public Health White paper Healthy Lives, Healthy People; Nov 2010, we believe that there are tremendous opportunities for native woodland to contribute positively towards delivering improved mental and physical health. In this regard I would be grateful to be added to your consultation database. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.
